Apple pencil. Seven reasons why the Apple Pencil rules. Standard equipment, price and description of Apple Pencil
I decided to do Apple review Pencil is separate from the iPad Pro, since there is something to tell and show about this iGadget. At the same time, the Apple Pencil is not some kind of serious gadget; it is just an accessory for the iPad Pro. Although how to look at it. The Apple Watch is also considered an accessory, but the watch does much less useful functions with iPhone than iPencil with tablet. What are the main questions that interest us regarding the new device:
Apple Pencil review and specifications
Apple Pencil is a pencil for drawing on iPad tablet Pro. This is a stylus with a built-in mechanism that makes the Apple Pencil work. The mechanism is located at the end of the pencil and reads touches with great accuracy and minimal delay. This is because the built-in mechanism reads the signal at a frequency of 240 times per second and the display captures twice as many points as when touched by a finger. In the stylus market - Apple Pencil for iPad Pro, this best solution Today. With it you can draw various lines quickly and easily. Apple Pencil was specially created so that it can be used to draw and write normally on the iPad Pro tablet. The pencil is equipped with a Bluetooth 4.1 module with which it synchronizes with the iPad Pro.
How long does Apple Pencil last?
The Apple Pencil's battery lasts a long time and charges quickly, so there are no problems with autonomy. Apple Pencil lasts 12 hours on a full charge in use mode. And if it is discharged and urgently needed, then in 15 seconds you can charge it for half an hour of work.
You need to charge the Apple Pencil through the Lightning connector, which is located on the back under the cap. It must be inserted into the iPad Pro, which in turn can charge devices connected via Lightning. Not just Apple Pencil. Moreover, even if you have an iPad Pro in a silicone case, the Apple Pencil will fit in easily, because its connector is elongated and can go deeper.
How to find out the charge of iPad Pro?
The fact that the Apple Pencil charges quickly and lasts a long time is all very good. But now you will find out how to find out how much the stylus is charged.
iPad Pro can see charge Apple battery Pencil, if the latter is connected to the iPad Pro via bluetooth. To do this, you need to activate the widget that allows you to see the battery level of the pencil in the curtain (notification center). Call up the curtain, tap on “Change” under the calendar and select the “Batteries” widget. After this, you will be able to observe the charge level of the Apple Pencil in this place.
You can connect your iPhone or Apple Watch to the iPad Pro and also see the battery level of these devices. It is noteworthy that the widget for viewing the charge level of connected devices via Bluetooth can be called up not only on the iPad but also on the iPhone.
Compatibility of Apple Pencil with other tablets
Can Apple Pencil be used for iPad Mini or iPad Air? Will the Apple Pencil go to the iPhone? The main question that plagues many consumers of Apple products today. Apple Pencil only works with iPad Pro. Air, Mini, iPhone, android devices do not support Apple Pencil. This is because the Apple Pencil interacts with the iPad Pro screen, i.e. in other words, this iPad Pro supports Apple Pencil. Other devices do not.
Apple Pencil price
This cunning stylus costs quite a bit - $100. Well, I rounded this up, at Apple, as always, all prices end in 9. The price of the Apple Pencil in the USA is $99, and in Russia - 7,790 rubles. In Ukraine, an Apple Pencil costs about three thousand hryvnia, which is unthinkable for any stylus. Although, as Apple assures us, this is not just some kind of stylus, but a full-fledged gadget.
You can buy the Apple Pencil stylus on the official Apple website or in stores where it is sold Apple technology. Apple cost Pencil varies by country. Somewhere more expensive, somewhere cheaper. For Americans, 100 bucks is not very expensive, but for us the same 100 bucks at today’s exchange rate is 25 UAH for 1 dollar, this is an absolutely unthinkable price! For 2500-3000 UAH you can buy a used iPhone 4 or iPad 2.
How to Draw with Apple Pencil
Instructions on how to use, draw, write Apple Pencil for beginners.
In principle, everything is extremely simple. You need to remember the main points and that’s it. The Apple Pencil stylus for iPad Pro responds to pressure and angle. Well, then, act as your imagination pleases. If you want to make the line bolder, then simply press harder with the stylus on the screen and you will get a bold line. If you want a thinner line, then press easier. If you need to make a line with a fade, tilt the Apple Pencil a little and you will get the effect of a real pencil.
Repairability of Apple Pencil
The guys from iFixit took apart the Apple Pencil to find out how repairable this pencil is. Well, at the same time we’ll look at the structure of the Apple Pencil. The cap that covers the lightning connector on the pencil is held on by a magnet, so it can be easily lost. Be careful if you buy. The tip is removable. Apple included another one in the kit, so if anything happens, you can easily replace it manually. He gets out.
Overall, the Apple Pencil is not repairable. Getting to the insides to repair something is not possible without mechanical damage. You'll have to cut the pencil and take everything out. The battery cannot be easily replaced either. So you work with the Apple Pencil until your battery dies. Well, she won't die soon. But after 3 years, the Apple Pencil will wear out faster than a new one. Therefore, the only solution is to bury it in the yard and buy a new one.
What impressed me most was the board built into the Apple Pencil. It weighs only 1 gram - it's amazing! There is so much stuff placed there and it all works clearly - this is progress!
Introducing Apple Pencil
Video: general introduction of Apple Pencil. Original video with voice acting by Jony Ive.
Almost everyone who has ever held a Apple hands Pencil, I had a very double impression: on the one hand, the stylus is cool, functional and all that, on the other hand, it’s still just a piece of plastic that is sold at an exorbitant price. When it fell into the hands of Dima, the host of our YouTube channel, he was completely blown away. (like, subscribe, and all that).
Design
Of course, a pair of styluses can't be too different, but this pair is about as different as it gets. The Logitech Crayon is made of aluminum with rubber inserts, while the Apple Pencil is entirely plastic. The Apple stylus is a centimeter longer, and we have parity in weight. Logitech, unlike Apple, has an indicator light and a power button. Regarding the shape, the Cupertino team came up with a completely round pencil, while Logitech’s cross-section resembles a rectangle, this shape helps it not to roll off the table.
Connection
Connecting devices to the tablet occurs in different ways. To connect the Logitech Crayon, you just need to hold down the physical button for a couple of seconds, while the Pencil, when connected for the first time, literally requires physical pairing: insert the stylus connector into the iPad port and confirm the connection. In both cases for wireless transmission data is used bluetooth. Both methods have their unobvious advantages. So, Crayon can be easily given to other users, because the connection is quick and you don’t need to “forget” the stylus separately beforehand, but Pencil is preferable when you don’t need to change with anyone, since the connection here is permanent.
The connection in both cases occurs using the Lightning port, but Logitech looks the same as on any iPhone generation, in contrast to the unreliable, dangerously protruding Apple Pencil mount, which only the lazy did not curse.
The charging port in both cases is hidden by a cap, but in Logitech it is attached to the body of the stylus itself.
Software subtleties and technical characteristics
That technical specifications The styluses are similar in many ways. The main difference between the Apple Pencil is pressure sensitivity. That is, when you press the pen harder, the line will become thicker and richer.
The delay during operation is minimal in both cases, and both styluses also change the stroke width when tilted. By application, Crayon works with Notability, Pages, Numbers, Keynote and Microsoft Office there is also support Smart functions Annotation. In general, the Logitech stylus is positioned as a device for taking notes, while the Pencil is a tool for designers and artists.
Interestingly, Logitech can turn off automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity. Both stylus styluses have a replaceable tip, and the Crayon is also drop-resistant up to 1.2m.
Autonomy
For a while battery life there is no need to complain in both cases, although Apple device still takes the lead: 8 hours for Crayon versus 12 hours for Pencil. In terms of charging time, the situation is approximately the same: for an additional half hour of work, Logitech will require a modest 1.5 minutes, and Apple will require even less - some 15 seconds.
Compatibility
But here everything is sad. Apple Pencil, as we remember, works with any representative of the Pro series: iPad Pro 12.9 (both generations), iPad Pro 10.5, iPad Pro 9.7 and, in fact, the hero of the occasion - the new iPad 6th generation. But Logitech Crayon only works with the latest model - the new iPad (2018). Perhaps it will be compatible with cheap iPads of the next generations, but so far there is simply no information even about the very fact of their appearance.
Availability
Unfortunately, buying a Logitech Crayon is not as easy as we would like. The company's priority is educational institutions, and only after this market is saturated will the stylus possibly become freely available. The Cupertino pen can be bought without problems in any more or less serious store, real or online.
We announced the price tags earlier, but let's say it again: the Apple Pencil costs $100 and the Logitech Crayon costs $50.
As we see, the comparison turned out to be interesting and ambiguous. And the Apple Pencil isn't always the clear favorite here. Logitech is favored by its shockproof housing, ergonomic shape, convenient port and, of course, low price. In general, this device was clearly created in order to communicate with real barbarians... oh, I mean, schoolchildren, but, let's honestly admit, we are all sloppy sometimes, and there's no need to talk about pets, who always climb where they're not asked. Its main drawback is the lack of pressure sensitivity and (even worse) the absence of the stylus itself in free trade. We sincerely hope that Logitech Crayon will appear in retail soon.
The Apple pen is favored by its status, pressure sensitivity, longer battery life and... perhaps that’s all. In our subjective opinion, it makes sense to buy an Apple Pencil when you need a stylus quickly and without hassle with the purchase. and also if you plan to move to the Pro line in the future. In all other options, it is better to be a little patient and wait for the Logitech Crayon to appear in free trade.
I think owners of Apple products are no strangers to the fact that compatible and fault-tolerant devices need to be purchased from the same company)))) When the question arose about purchasing a stylus for the iPad, several options were considered, including the Apple Pencil, and the choice fell on it.
Of all the styluses reviewed, the Apple Pencil was the largest and most expensive.
I bought an Apple Pencil on the official Apple website.
At Apple, as always, everything is laconic: everything you need fits in a small box, without any excess.
The box contains the pencil itself, a description of warranty service, instructions for English, an adapter for charging the pencil and a spare tip, as well as illustrated instructions (probably for those who do not like to read a lot of letters).
Description of warranty service (given for 1 year from the date of purchase)... or refusal of it
Illustrated instructions for use.
A set of spare parts: an adapter for charging the pencil from the mains and a spare tip.
The adapter itself is different at both ends. On one side with a recess - this side will connect to the pencil.
On the other side without a recess - this side is connected to the wired charger.
This is what a pencil with an adapter looks like. The box the adapter came in shows which side goes where to connect it (photo above).
The charging adapter is very small and easy to lose, so we also purchased a silicone holder for it. It is attached to the charging wire.
Also, when charging, it is easy to lose the cap under which the lightning connector is hidden.
Therefore, a silicone holder was purchased for it.
The cap itself is magnetic to the pencil body, so it won’t get lost during use.
The pencil has 2 charging methods:
- from iPad Pro
- from the mains (a plus is that 15 seconds of charging, according to the manufacturer, can be enough for half an hour of work, I tested it and it really works)
In order to start using the pencil, you need to turn on Bluetooth on the tablet, insert the pencil into the connector, having first removed the cap from it. When you first start, you will need to pair the tablet and pencil.
In order to see the percentage of charge of the pencil, you need to add the “batteries” item to the widgets on the tablet. This will allow you to send the pencil for charging in time.
The pencil itself is very convenient to use, it is quite thick and fits comfortably in the hand. But you can’t do without a cover or without a fish, like mine, at least for me.
I draw on a tablet; the pencil glides very easily, unlike a pencil on paper, so every movement is important. To prevent it from slipping in your hands, you can buy a silicone case for it, just like buying a fish from me. I like my version better, because... with it, the pencil does not rub my finger, plus my fingers clasp the pencil in an anatomically correct shape.
You can download coloring pages and color them with a pencil. You can also use a pencil in its most common form - as a control element instead of your fingers.
As I said above, this turned out to be a profitable investment for me. I mostly draw with a pencil, sometimes using it as a control. The only negative, in my opinion, is that while the pencil is being dressed up (if you don’t use fast charging), then you can’t use a pencil (But they’ve already come up with quick charging for picky people like me.
The pencil also needs additional accessories. For example, a cover. On the official website, the price for such things is beyond good and evil, so I found alternative options that are not affordable).
I keep my pencil in a case along with my tablet, always at hand.
Thank you for reading the review to the end)))
Personal experience after 48 hours of use.
What we have been waiting for for so long has come true. Apple released the iPad Pro, we wrote, and two weeks later the guys from Onlyphones.ru offered to plunge into the world of fine art and test all the capabilities of the Apple Pencil stylus.
What is the iPencil capable of, is it worth the trouble, and how is life for the owner of an iPad Pro who has an Apple Pencil in their hands? Let's talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the stylus.
Reason #1: no delays
For people who use the computer as a professional tool, the greatest enemy of all time remains delay. The sound engineer struggles to minimize the time it takes to convert sound from analog to digital; the designer wins back precious milliseconds by making the next stroke on the graphics tablet. Apple Pencil has no such shortcomings.
As soon as you touch the iPad Pro's huge screen with the tip of the stylus, it instantly responds to your touch. The lines turn out clear and even, and the artist has the feeling that they are drawing on a slate board or a piece of parchment. Response speed This accessory has the highest praise, and the signal reading frequency reaches 240 times per second.
Reason #2: very sensitive
Despite its small size, comparable to the size of a regular ballpoint pen, the Apple Pencil is packed with all sorts of sensors that ensure its smooth and trouble-free operation. The stylus distinguishes not only pressing force(up to 2048 degrees), but also the angle of inclination.
By setting a slight tilt, you can quickly shade a fragment of the drawing, as when working with a regular pencil.
Reason #3: long lasting
Inside the Apple Pencil there is a miniature battery, the capacity of which is only 80 mAh. Despite such a small size, after a full charge the stylus is ready for use. 12 o'clock continuous operation.
Moreover, universal charger for Apple Pencil at your fingertips. The gadget is equipped with a traditional Lightning port, and a simple connection to the corresponding port of the iPad Pro for just 15 seconds will give the stylus 30 minutes of work. Full charging time is about 50 minutes.
For charging via a regular network, a miniature adapter is provided: an Apple Pencil is inserted on one side, and a Lightning cable on the other.
Reason #4: the palm is not the enemy
Even an experienced artist knows the consequences of touching a drawing with the palm of his hand to a drawing just drawn with a slate or charcoal pencil. This is the case when the hands that created the drawing can ruin it. Apple has provided for this too.
Despite the fact that, according to all the “laws of the genre” of capacitive screen technology, it must respond to the touch of a human hand, when working with the Apple Pencil, you can touch the screen with the edge of your palm, leaning on the tablet screen as if on a regular sheet of paper. The tablet will not go berserk from this action, and the clarity of the stylus will not deteriorate at all.
Reason #5: works through “obstacles”
Another interesting feature of the Apple Pencil is the ability to work through a sheet of paper. Let's assume that you want to copy as accurately as possible a fragment of an original drawing printed on paper.
To do this, just attach the sheet to the iPad Pro screen and trace all the required contours. The tablet counts all the touches of the stylus, despite the fact that between the screen and the tip of the pen there is an impromptu obstacle - a sheet of paper.
Reason #6: instead of a finger
The main purpose of the Apple Pencil is drawing. However, the stylus is compatible with almost all actions that you usually perform when touching the tablet with your fingers.
Open links, launch applications, scroll, interact with menu items, type (support for third-party keyboards and keyboards that allow handwriting input is implemented) - Apple Pencil can do it all. The limitations of the accessory include the inability to open the Notification Center, Control Center, or switch to Slide Over or Split View mode. More likely, this limitation is purely software in nature, but “Apple decided so.”
Reason #7: Application support
To realize a truly good product, the ingenuity of engineers and the bright vision of a designer are not enough. Need software support. The number of apps compatible with the Apple Pencil is growing exponentially.
Already today the following are compatible with the Apple stylus: Pixelmator, Adobe Comp CC, Paper, Adobe Phoroshop Mix, Adobe Photoshop Fix, AutoCAD 360, Autodesk SketchBook, Evernote, Adobe Illustrator Draw, Canva and a number of other applications. The inclusion of stylus support by developers allows not only to optimize the interaction of the accessory with the interface, but also to enable support for iOS functions such as Split View.
A little about the sad
Ask any marketer and he will confidently answer that the “ideal product” does not exist. The Apple Pencil was no exception, and the list of disadvantages of the “Apple pencil” looks something like this:
- The stylus is compatible only and only with the iPad Pro. It will not work with other devices, including Apple products.
- Unavailable multitasking. Apple Pencil does not allow you to switch to Split View and Slide Over modes - the main innovations of iOS 9. You can only make this transition using your finger.
- No eraser. For users familiar with alternative styluses that work with capacitive screens, one of the advantages of this product category is the presence of an eraser. Touch the screen with the other end of the stylus and activate the eraser mode. Apple Pencil doesn't have this option.
- Apple Pencil does not support multi-touch gestures. However, not a single stylus can do this.
A skeptical user will probably classify Apple’s next development as “expensive and unnecessary toys.” A professional designer or artist, being a creative person, will think about purchasing an Apple Pencil, because the desire to experiment is the main engine of creativity. A fan of Apple products and a user who has been waiting for a “big iPad” will take the stylus without a doubt.
Where to buy Apple Pencil? We suggest stopping at the online store Onlyphones.ru. Firstly, it is available today; secondly, among the impressive range of accessories for Apple devices, you will definitely want to buy “something else”.
Apple introduced the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro to an enthusiastic public as something new, more advanced and more convenient than the previous iPad Air 2 or iPad Pro 12.9. The idea is simple: the user now receives the power and versatility of a large iPad with a 12.9-inch screen and support for everyone’s favorite Apple Pencil technology and the new Smart Keyboard in a more compact and familiar iPad Air 2 form factor.
On the other hand, all this is not free. If you immediately want a more powerful processor, a cooler screen, proprietary drawing technology along with a super stylus, plus a cool wireless keyboard, but don’t want to buy a large iPad, then get ready to buy the new iPad Pro 9.7. The tradition is this: more new (or not new) functionality - higher price.
However, if you already have an iPad Air, there is no need to rush into buying it yet new iPad, then you might want to think about how to add this very Pro functionality to your “old” tablet. Fortunately, there are options. You can choose a stylus with similar sensitivity and accuracy options, covers and cases with and without keyboards that are at least as good as the Smart Keyboard, and a couple of high-quality applications that allow you to draw and write almost the same as on the iPad Pro screen, You can also download it. In other words, if you want and relatively inexpensively, you can turn your iPad into almost a Pro too. But we will now talk about exactly how.
Let's start with the most difficult one. As you know, styluses from so-called third-party manufacturers, by and large, only imitate the functionality of 3D touch technology and regular iPads-ah they don’t work with the same high level quality, like the branded Apple Pencil on the iPad Pro. In addition, iPads of previous series are not equipped with a special magnetic connector, thanks to which a keyboard can be connected to the iPad Pro not via Bluetooth. There seems to be no point in denying these facts, however, as we have already said, there are options. So, in order:
acceptable alternative to Apple Pencil
Adonit has been producing interesting accessories for the iPad (and not only for them) for years, but a product called Adonit Jot Dash appeared in the company’s assortment quite recently. And it has already gained fame as the best stylus for drawing in the world. The model is made in a lightweight case, no larger in size than a regular pen, comes with a miniature magnetic USB charger and turns on with one click. Adonit Jot Dash is suitable, that is, compatible, with all iPads (as well as iPhones and many Aindroid smartphones and tablets), without additional software or Bluetooth connection. As for the quality and accuracy of the Jot Dash, here is a clear overview of the capabilities of this device (you can turn on subtitle translation):
Another equally interesting one alternative to Apple Pencil was offered by the company fiftythree, by the way, well known to all lovers and professionals of tablet drawing as the developer of the popular Paper application. The stylus from fiftythree is called “Pencil”, i.e. “pencil”, and indeed most of all it looks like a thick pencil with flat edges and a sharp tip, which, like the tip of the Apple Pencil, allows you to adjust the thickness of the lines by tilting the stylus relative to the surface of the screen, if you draw in compatible applications like Paper. The Pencil also responds to pressure (the stronger it is, the darker the line), its reverse end serves as an “eraser”, and together with this stylus you can use your fingers to, say, mix or smudge “paints” on the tablet screen. A separate plus: the proprietary Paper application can be downloaded for free; it works both on the iPad and, more recently, on the iPhone.
how to replace Smart Keyboard for iPad Pro?
The new keyboard cover, as you've probably already seen, simply snaps onto the long side of the iPad Pro body. The original iPad Air or iPad Air 2 keyboards can’t do this. They need to be connected the “old-fashioned way” via a Bluetooth module, and they only work when Bluetooth is turned on on the iPad. And users turn it off quite often in order to save battery power, so sometimes there is unnecessary fuss with reconnecting the keyboard. The situation is approximately the same with third-party keyboards. But there are nuances.
For example, a case cover released about 2 years ago Folio by Logitech Although it looks less elegant today than the Smart Keyboard for iPad Pro, its massiveness also has a number of advantages. It protects the tablet, and it has a physical keyboard, although it's also Bluetooth, like everyone else. It only charges via a USB cable, but is equipped with its own battery, which provides it with up to 3 months of battery life (and if you take the Folio with solar panels, then even longer). This case also has magnets, they are hidden inside, hold the cover well in the closed position and automatically turn on the screen if you lift the top part. Additionally, the Folio keeps your iPad at a comfortable angle while you type.
In addition to Folio, Logitech also has BLOK - also a cover case with a keyboard, designed specifically for the iPad Air 2, but different. This accessory makes the iPad look a little like Microsoft's Surface Pro 3, because its stand is also located at the back. But BLOK, which is not only a cover, but also a bumper, unlike many other covers, protects the tablet body not only from the top and bottom, but also from the ends, and protects not only from shocks and other mechanical influences, but also a little from all sorts of wet substances. And, what is most interesting in our case, the BLOK keyboard is also magnetized. Not to the tablet, like the Smart Keyboard, but to the cover, but some similarity of the effect still exists.
Pro apps to choose from
One of them is Paper, with which the capabilities of the Pencil stylus are best revealed - we have already mentioned. But, of course, this is not the only program that implements the technology of the screen responding to different pressure levels. There are others too.
In the list of recommended applications for mobile drawing on the iPad, Apple included, in particular, Adobe Illustrator Draw and Line. Both in basic versions can be downloaded for free, but, as the developer notes, they work even better in combination with a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, which is paid. The list goes on:
- Adobe Photoshop Sketch And Mix – also free, but after installing them Adobe will ask you to subscribe to Creative Cloud;
- Astropad Graphics Tablet
($19) - aimed at professional artists and actually turns
iPad in graphics tablet for Mac, i.e. you can draw on iPad screen and monitor the entire process on the computer screen through serious software like Photoshop;
- Procreate ($5.99) - one of the most best apps for drawing on the iPad with an easy-to-learn interface, extensive tools and the ability to connect additional accessories;
- Noteshelf ($7.99) - a very sophisticated mobile handwritten notes manager for iPad;
- Autodesk SketchBook (free) - a professional drawing and drawing application optimized for tablets, it also has everything.
As for the new iMovie , which Apple released exclusively for its iPad Pro, that is, there is an opinion that it will work quite well on “regular” iPads as an alternative to a sensational new product Pinnacle Studio is a professional mobile video editor with which you can make storyboards, precise editing transitions, high-quality transitions, add effects and soundtracks. The program is compatible with Pinnacle Studio for desktops (that is, videos edited on an iPad can simply be transferred to a work computer), supports resolutions up to 1080, and has a tool for exporting videos to YouTube and Facebook (by the way, let us also remind you that using the kit Apple camera connection iPad Camera Connection Kit , photos and videos can be imported to the tablet from external memory cards).
Adobe Creative Cloud also has functionality similar to IMOVIE (and Pinnacle Studio), and can also synchronize with Adobe Premiere Creative Cloud is one of the most popular and powerful video editors. You can also easily import video into Premiere Clip, adjust the lighting, add transitions and effects, slow down and speed up, edit the sound, etc. and then send the finished video to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube or export to Adobe Premiere Pro CC, which has even more extensive tools.
and about money
Let's sum it up, as they say. With the accessories and applications described above, your iPad Air (or iPad Air 2) will not turn into the new iPad Pro 9.7 by itself, of course, but in terms of functionality it is guaranteed to be much more Pro than it was. And now a little arithmetic.
Today, Apple offers the “youngest” 12.9-inch iPad Pro in the line for 71,990 rubles, and the 16GB iPad Air 2 for 35,990 rubles, which is actually half the price. Apple Pencil for iPad Pro 12.9 costs 7,790 rubles, the branded Smart Keyboard for it costs another 13,290 rubles. Total: you have to pay for the iPad Pro 12.9 (note, the most inexpensive in the series) with a keyboard and stylus 93070 rubles (OK. $1400 ). A set of iPad Pro 9.7 with the same stylus and Smart Keyboard of the appropriate size will cost 72570 rubles (52990 - iPad Pro 9.7 with WiFi, 7790 - stylus, 11790 - keyboard, in general, ok. $1100 ).
The new iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi (RUR 35,590), along with one of two styluses (RUR 3,300) and the most expensive keyboard we listed (RUR 8,500) will cost about 47500 rubles , plus, perhaps, a few hundred more will be needed to purchase paid versions application. This is the alternative. But this is if you buy a new tablet with new accessories. If you already have an iPad Air or iPad Air 2, then the cost of the entire effort to bring its functionality to a level close to Pro will be maximum 12500 rubles (i.e. less than $200).
Yes, the iPad Air 2 and iPad Air, along with cool accessories and a whole set of professional applications, will obviously still be somewhat inferior to the iPad Pro with the original Apple stylus, keyboard and software. BUT one question arises here: is this difference so significant, and is it worth shelling out 1000 bucks for it?
